Palo Verde Advances To Final Four

First Quarter

Gilbert Christian gets the opening tip and misses the three point shot. Kameron Pippen gets the rebound but Palo Verde misses the layup attempt. GC passes the ball out of bounds, possession back to the Titans. Kristian White makes the tough layup and draws the foul. He sinks the free throw. 3-0 Titans. Kamaiu Ortiz gets a steal and makes the shot. Rashad Ortiz comes away with another steal for the titans and again Kristian white draws a foul. He misses the first and makes the second. Gilbert Christian with possession. They miss again from three and Kameron Pippen gets the rebound. Rashad Ortiz misses the shot but it is rebounded by Ethan Graves and he scores the second chance bucket. Timeout GC down 8-0 with 4:29 left in the first. The Knights inbound the ball and Kristian White rebounds another Knights missed three. Kameron Pippen makes the layup and draws the foul and finishes the three point play at the line. Taylor Abrahamson makes the three for Gilbert Christians first points of the game. 11-3 with 3:17left in the first. Kristian White draws the foul and makes the first but misses the second. Rashad Ortiz rebounds it and it gets knocked out of bounds back to the Knights. Gilbert Christian with the ball and Kameron Pippen gets a steal for the Titans but misses the layup. Hudson Noll makes a three on the other end for the Knights. Kristian White attacks the basket and knocks down the layup. Kameron Pippen is fouled and he will head to the line. He knocks down both and the Titans are up 10. Kristian White rebounds another missed three by the Knights and Kameron Pippen is fouled on the rebound. He makes both again and it's 18-6. Kameron Pippen with another steal and he finds Rashad Ortiz for the dunk. The student section ERUPTS. 20-6 with 1:11 left. Huck Lang hits a three for the Knights. Gilbert Christian rebounds a Titans miss and they miss another three point attempt. Kristian White is fouled on the rebound and he makes one of two. Huck Lang makes a three before the buzzer and the Knights find themselves down 21-12 going into the second quarter. 

Second Quarter

The Titans inbound the ball and they turn it over to the Knights. Kameron Pippen steals the ball back and finds Kristian White for the layup . Rashad Ortiz rebounds a missed three by the Knights. Trey Cicerelli picks up his third foul of the game and is subbed out. Kameron Pippen gets a bucket. Jump ball is awarded to the Knights. Another miss and Kamaiu Ortiz gets the board. Kristian White misses and the Knights have possession. Jacob Jensen  is fouled on the three point attempt. He makes the first, misses the second and makes the third. Titans with the ball. Graves scores the bucket for the Titans. The Knights turn it over out of bounds. Titans inbound the ball and Kameron Pippen misses the layup. Huck Lang makes them pay as he hits another three, his third of the game. Rashad Ortiz is fouled hard cutting to the basket. Kameron Pippen is called for the foul on the rebound. The Knights turn the ball over again back to the Titans. Rashad Ortiz is fouled on the shot. He sinks both free throws. Graves rebounds a Knights missed three point attempt. Kameron Pippen has the ball and an offensive foul is called. Huck Lang is hot as he hits a corner three for the Knights and its 29-20. The Knights rebound the miss but they are called for the travel. Kameron Pippen with the ball, he passes to Kamaiu Ortiz who then finds Kristian White for the bucket. Gilbert Christian has the ball and who other than Huck Lang hits another three from the corner, his fifth of the game. Ethan Graves misses the shot, gets his own rebound and is fouled. He makes the first and misses the second. The Knights have the ball with 5 seconds left and miss the shot attempt. 

The Titans lead 32-23 at the half. Gilbert Christian has had zero luck getting to the basket and have made it clear up to this point the three ball will decide their fate.

Huck Lang has five 3 pointers for the Knights and Kristian White has 12 points for the Titans.

Third Quarter

The third quarter about to start and a shock to me, Huck Lang who has 15 of the Knights 23 points on five made threes starts the half on the bench. The Knights inbound the ball and airballs the three point attempt. Rebounded by the Titans and they quickly turn it over. Kameron Pippen with an immediate steal and the Titans turn it back over again. Kamari Stanbury makes the three for the Knights. Ethan Graves loses the ball and it is recovered by the Knights. They miss and Kaneron Pippen recovers the rebound. Rashad Ortiz gets fouled on the shot. He misses both and Taylor Abrahamson gets the rebound. Trey Cicerelli makes the layup and it's now 32-28. The Knights on a run to start the half. Titans need a bucket to stop the Knights momentum. Kristian White misses and Ethan Graves picks up a foul on the rebound. Jacob Jensen knocks down a three for the Knights and it is now 32-31. The Titans really need a play on this possession. Kamaiu Ortiz finds Rashad Ortiz for the baseline dunk. Kamaiu Ortiz with a steal but the dunk attempt is missed. Jacob Jensen is fouled on the shot and makes both. Kameron Pippen with the ball. He finds Ethan Graves and he misses and fouls on the rebound. Kamari Stanbury misses the layup and it is rebounded by Kamaiu Ortiz.  The Knights get the ball back  and they miss the quick three. The Titans have possession and Kameron Pippen draws the foul. He's at the line. He makes the first and misses the second but Rashad Ortiz gets the rebound. Titans with possession. Kameron Pippen again with a floater. 37-33 Titans lead with 2 minutes left in the third. Kristian White with a steal and he is fouled by Kamari Stanbury. He goes to the line and makes 1 of 2. The Knights with the ball and Taylor Abrahamson makes a three. Kristian White is fouled on the baseline drive. He makes the first and sinks the second. Jacob Jensen makes the layup for the Knights. Rashad Ortiz is fouled and makes both free throws. Jacob Jensen answers with a three from the corner. 42-41 Titans lead going into the fourth. 

Fourth Quarter

Gilbert Christian has possession. Taylor Abrahamson misses a three and they get their rebound and Pierson Scott hits a three. Gilbert Christian leads for the first time 44-42. Kameron Pippen hits the layup and his fouled on the shot. He regains the lead for the Titans. Taylor Adrahamson makes the corner three and gets fouled by Kameron Pippen. Kamari Stnbury is called for a technical foul as he shoulder checks Kameron Pippen. Taylor Abrahamson misses the free throw. Kameron Pippen makes both technical free throws and the Titans get possession 47 all. Kamaiu Ortiz with the layup. Titans back up 2. Kamari Stanbury makes the layup and the Knights tie the game back up. Kameron Pippen draws the foul and he makes both. The Titans lead 51-49. Huck Lang  knocks down a three, his sixth of the game. Rashad Ortiz draws a foul and Hudson Noll fouls out of the game. Rashad Ortiz hits both free throws. The Knights have the ball and it is stolen by Rashad Ortiz. Kamaiu Ortiz turns it over but then steals it back and scores the layup. Rashad Ortiz with a big block of the glass on Kamari Stanburys shot attempt and then scores the layup off the rebound on the other end. 57-52 Titans lead with 4 minutes left. The Knights have the ball and they turn it over back to the Titans, Kamaiu Ortiz turns it over on the inbound. The three point attempt is no good and recovered by the Titans. Kamaiu Ortiz sinks the floater. Huck Lang is fouled and he makes both free throws. 59-54 Titans lead with 2:19 left. Titans with possession. Refs missed a timeout call by the Titans and the Knights capitalize on 5 second turnover and hit a three. Kameron Pippen is fouled and he makes both free throws. Kamari Stanbury has the ball and is fouled. The Knights inbound the ball and Huck Lang misses the floater. Kamaiu Ortiz rebounds the ball, he finds Kameron Pippen who is then fouled by Pierson Scott. Kameron Pippen makes 1 of 2. One minute left and Kamari Stanbury is called for an offensive foul on the inbound. The Titans turn it over on the inbound, ball back to the Knights. Kamaiu Ortiz steals the ball and is fouled by Pierson Scott who will exit the game with his fifth foul. Kamaiu Ortiz misses the first and makes the second. Timeout Titans as they lead 63-57 with 46 seconds left. The Knights inbound the ball and Trey Cicerelli misses but the Knights get their rebound and Ethan Graves gets a big block on the three point attempt. Rashad Ortiz recovers the rebound and is fouled. He makes 1 of 2. Tinter makes a quick three for the Knights and they call a timeout down 4 with 10.6 seconds left. Titans inbound the ball. They throw it long for Kristian White who then finds Rashad Ortiz who puts the exclamation point with a dunk and the Titans are on to the final four with a 66-60 victory over the Gilbert Christian Knights. 

Despite the Knights scoring 48 points on 16 made threes and the Palo Verde Titans not scoring a single three point attempt ( I believe they only took one three point attempt) the Titans found a way to overcome and win the game in the paint.
