Maurice Carter II transferring to Millennium

One of the top prospects in Arizona’s 2028 class is on the move.

On Thursday via Instagram, it was announced that guard Maurice Carter II would be transferring from Willow Canyon high school in Surprise to Millennium high school in Goodyear for his junior year.

This comes following a fantastic sophomore season which saw Carter average 23.6 points, 6.3 assists, and 5.3 rebounds per contest as he led the Wildcats to the 5A conference semifinal following a second consecutive open division tournament appearance.

In Carter’s two seasons as a lead guard for Willow Canyon, he was named to the 5A conference first team and won the 5A Northwest valley region player of the year in both years.

This move comes on the eve of Section 7, the premier high school basketball event on the west coast yearly. Millennium will open the event facing off against Bremerton (WA). The matchup will highlight Jalen Davis vs Adan Diggs but now the Tigers have another division one caliber guard in the rotation.
