6A Final Four Perry @ Tucson

First Quarter

Pleasant surprise as the members of the  University of Arizona Basketball team is in attendance.

Lj Diamond has the ball and drives the lane for the basket. The Badgers first possession is a miss by Patrick Flores rebounded by Dane Montague. LJ Diamond again with the bucket. Pumas lead 4-0. Tavion Okougbo with a three off the pass from Jaykan Knight. Pumas miss by Dane Montague rebounded by Nitai Buchler going the other way. Malaki Cunnigham-Hiadzi with the layup. Badgers take a 5-4 lead. Badgers get the ball after a miss by the Pumas and Hiadzi is fouled by LJ Diamond. He makes one of two free throws. Pumas have the ball and they miss the three rebounded by Tavion Okougbo and he finds Patrick Flores for the three. The Pumas turnover the ball and a timeout is called. The Tucson crowd gets LOUD. Tucson inbounds and Tavion Okoiugbo advances the ball and again he finds Patrick Flores for another three. JJ Howard drives for a layup and the Pumas are down 12-6. Malaki Cunningham-Hiadzi with a nasty block on LJ Diamonds attempt. Vik Babic makes the floater for the Pumas. The Badgers miss and the Pumas take over. LJ Diamond advances the ball and it's stolen by Malaki Cunningham-Hiadzi who finds Tavion Okougbo for the three. Tavion Okougbo with a steal and he makes the layup. JJ Howard makes a three for Perry. Malaki Cunningham-Hiadzi makes the floater. JJ Howard is fouled on the shot attempt. He makes both. Tucson subs with a 19-13 lead. Jaylan Knight with a big time three. Pumas have the ball and Dane Montague finds LJ Diamond for the three. Jaylan Knight rebounds a missed three by JJ Howard. Missed three by Patrick Flores rebounded by Dane Montague. Kolby Barnes scores the layup for Perry. Tucson has the ball with 19 seconds left. Jaylan Knight is fouled on the three but no call by the ref and Tucson will take a 22-18 lead into the second quarter.

Second Quarter

Tucson will start with possession. Patrick Flores has the ball, he passes to Malaki who drives and kicks to Christopher Allen for the corner three. Kolby Barnes answers back with a three for Perry. Tucson with the ball and Patrick Flores hits a three. Timeout is called as Tucson leads 28-21. LJ Diamond advances the ball off the inbound. He finds Kolby Barnes for the three. Both teams are heating up. Turnover by the Pumas. Patrick Flores with the ball and he passes to Nitai Buchler who finds Tavion Okougbo on the cut and he gets the bucket and the foul. He misses the free throw and Perry gets the ball. LJ Diamond with the tough turnaround jumper. Nitai Buchler finds Patrick Flores for the layup. LJ Diamond loses his dribble and the ball goes out of bounds. Tucson misses and the ball is out of bounds. Perry inbounds the ball and Malaki Cunningham-Hiadzi with another block on Jayden Cunninghams attempt. . Kolby Barnes scores on the baseline drive. Malaki Cunningham-Hiadzi drives and is fouled on the shot. He will go to the line. He makes the first and misses the second. Perry gets the rebound but steps out of bounds. Badgers with the ball. Badgers miss and the Pumas get possession. LJ diamond knocks down the corner three. 33-31 Badgers lead with 3 minutes left. Jaylan Knight cuts and gets the pass from Patrick Flores and scores. The Pumas advance and Vik Babic scores the turnaround jumper. Malaki Cunningham-Hiadzi knocks down both free throws after getting fouled and Tucson now leads by four. Patrick Flores tips the ball away from LJ Diamond and the shot is missed by Knight on the other end. Perry has the ball. LJ Diamond drives and hits the floater. Patrick Flores misses and Dane Motague rebounds the ball. LJ Diamond finds JJ Howard for the three and Perry retakes the lead 38-37 into the half. 

Third Quarter

The Tucson Badgers will start with the ball. Tavion Okougbo misses the three and Dane Montague gets the rebound. Tavion Okougbo steals it back but Malaki Cunningham-Hiadzi is called for a travel. Vik Babic is fouled on the three point attempt and makes all three. 41-37 Perry. Patrick Flores drives and is fouled on the shot by JJ Howard. He makes one of two. JJ Howard makes the corner three. 44-38 Pumas. Malaki Cunnigham-Hiadzi drives and makes the left-handed layup. Then he rebounds a miss by the Pumas on the other end. Patrick Flores takes a charge and the Badgers get the ball back. Refs miss a call on a clear travel and the gym lets them hear it. Vik Babic takes advantage of the missed call and makes a layup for the Pumas as they take a 46-40 lead. Malaki Cunningham-Hiadzi misses the floater and Perry takes over. LJ Diamond airballs the three attempt but it gets rebounded by Vik Babic and he makes the layup. Timeout taken by Perry with a 48-40 lead. Malaki Cunningham-Hiadzi makes a tough left handed layup through contact. Perry answers back. 50-42 Perry with the lead and the ball. Malaki Cunningham-Hiadzi with a block and Perry gets the rebound. They pass it to Dane Montague who is again blocked by Malaki Cunningham-Hiadzi. The Badgers with the ball. They need a score on this possession. LJ Diamond rebounds a miss by Malaki Cunningham-Hiadzi then finds Austin Turner for the three. Tavion Okougbo draws the foul and he misses the first and makes the second. Tavion Okougbo with the steal but misses the layup. Patrick Flores with another charge and the Badgers get the ball. Patrick Flores with a three off the backboard at the buzzer and the Perry Pumas lead 52-46 going into the fourth. 

Fourth Quarter. 

Pumas inbound the ball. LJ Diamond makes the quick layup then quickly picks up his third foul. Perry makes one of two after getting fouled on the shot. Malaki Cunningham- Hiadzi drives and is fouled by Austin Turner. He makes both free throws. Pumas advance the ball and Vik Babic makes the wide open three. Tucson calls a timeout after a turnover by the Pumas. Pumas steal the inbound and Vik Babic with another three. Patrick Flores steals the ball and makes a layup for the Badgers. The Pumas pass it out of bounds and Tucson takes over. Malaki Cunningham-Hiadzi too much for Kolby Barnes  in the post as he gets the bucket. Badgers with the ball after a Perry turnover. LJ Diamond picks up his fourth foul. Hiadzi draws the foul and heads to the line. He makes one of two and the badgers are down by 9 with 4 minutes left. Vik Babic called with a travel. Nitai Buchler with a rebound and a score. Badgers down by 7. Kolby Barnes fouled by Patrick Flores. He misses both and Hiadzi gets the rebound. Timeout Badgers 62-55 with three minutes left. Badgers inbound the ball. Flores has it and misses but it's knocked out by Perry. Pumas steal another inbound and Vik Babic misses the open three. Patrick Flores gets the rebound and finds Hiadzi who draws the foul. He makes both and they trail by five. Perry calls a timeout. Pumas inbound the ball to LJ Diamond. JJ Howard hits a jumper but in less than three seconds Hiadzi scores. LJ Diamond scores the layup. Jaylan Knight hits the long three and it's a four point game with 52 seconds left and the Pumas turn the ball over. Badgers with the ball. Jaylan Knight draws the foul. He makes both at the line and it's a two point game with 27 seconds left. Pumas with the ball. Vik Babic one of two from the line. Patrick Flores misses the game tying shot and Vik Babic gets the rebound. He is fouled and hits the first which should be the dagger with 2.3 left. He makes the second and Perry will go on to win 69-64 and advance to the 6A State Championship game.
